Technology
The spot/projection welding machines
manufactured by Artech operate on the principle
of capacitor discharge.
The welders use mains input power only for control
and charging the capacitors that store the energy.
The built in control ensures that the stored energy
is always constant irrespective of voltage fluctuations.
The demand on input power, required for charging
of capacitors is less.
This results in saving of large KVA demand and
hence reduction in operational costs is possible.
It would be evident from this that these welders
would be a welcome investment, particularly, where
voltage fluctuations are common, availability
of power is scarce and the cost of high KVA installations
is prohibitive.
The stored energy when required is discharged
into weldment via pulse transformer and the weld
is carried out in few milli-seconds. In process
actual welding areas is only molten and fused
together. The welded parts are clean and undistorted
as there is insufficient time for heat to conduct
beyond the welding area and smooth finish is obtained.
The preset pressure switch maintains consistent
weld quality automatically.
The welders use fabricated frame structure for
housing the capacitor banks, control circuits
charging and discharging transformers. The welding
electrodes are mounted in C-shaped quick response
press mechanism and electrode movement is hydraulically
/ pneumatically operated. Conservative design
and use of proven components like electrolytic
capacitors, solid-state switches, ensure long
welding life and ease of operation. All recommended
electrode materials are suitable for these welders. |
