      Large scale reduction in KVA demand. 

      The conventional Projection welding needs lot of power for welding. Generally the machines used for Nut / Bolt welding are rated above 50 KVA. Artech make projection welders working on Storage of energy consume 
hardly few KVA power that is required to charge the Capacitors to the desired voltage. Actual welding takes place when this stored Energy is discharged into primary of output pulse transformer and weldment is connected across the secondary of this transformer. Since power is consumed for charging the capacitors the loading on input power lines is few KVA only. As such large-scale reduction in KVA demand is observed and obtained.

     No water-cooling is required.  

       In usual / conventional projection welders it is general practice to circulate cooling water through electrodes
to avoid rise in temperature of electrode themselves. In Artech welders this is not required because there
is no time
for the heat to transfer to electrode from weldment. This is so because of very short welding 
time like less than ten millisecond. Neither job nor electrode will be heated and in view this no cooling arrangement and cooling water circulation is necessary.

      No effect of voltage fluctuation on quality of welds.  

      This is a very serious effect and parts welded with conventional welders show large difference in the strength of weld joints. This will not happen with the Artech welders because the energy proportional to peak voltage only will be used for welding as seen the ½ cv2 represents the voltage and hence the quality of welds and energy used in welding is constant.

     Minimum or nil heating of welded components.  

     This is possible in Artech welders because the welding pulse is of very small duration and more over the 
heating due to melting of metals in weldment is concentrated in a very small area of components.

     Welding of heat sensitive parts is possible.  

     Once again the welding duration, which is very low in Artech welders, makes possible welding 
of heat sensitive parts, like wires in plastic sleeve etc.

      Installation / operating cost of machine is less.  

       In view of small requirement of power these Artech machine can be connected to mains by flexible heads.
This naturally reduces installation work and hence installation cost is less. The power required to charge the capacitors are less and  as such  the welding machine electrical power consumption is low. 
So operating cost is very low.

      Welded  joints are free from coloration and blackening.  

      Such defects are generally observed on parts welded with conventional welding machine. This happens
because the parts that are being welded get red hot and absorb oxygen from the atmosphere. This will not happen in case of parts welded with Artech equipment, as the welding time is maximum 9 milliseconds.

     Machine can run on genset.  

      This is possible since machine works on low  KVA and generators can easily supply energy required for charging the capacitors. Also these machines are three phase machines and there is balanced loading on 
all three phases. This is not so conventional machines.

      Welding of similar and dissimilar metals.  

      Major difficulty in such welding is because of different melting points of different materials. If time taken to melt one of the metals being welded is higher than the other metal then weld is not good obviously. In case 
of Artech welding machine such problem never exists because the total welding duration is so less 
(maximum 9 milliseconds) that there is no possibility of hardening of the metal that is having 
low Melting temperature neither burnout occurs, as the time is very short.

      Maintenance costs of electrode / fixture are very low.

Maintenance requirement of electrode / fixture used with conventional welding is quite huge because of the effect of high temperature involved in welding of the components. Where as with Artech welders the case is totally different. The temperature of the electrode themselves and hence of fixtures is very low and thus wear and 
tear is reduced. Naturally the maintenance costs are also very low.
